Update on the church!

We now have an associate pastor to the parish! Thanks be to God!

Thanksgiving Day Mass will be said at St. Hedwig's at 9:00am. We hope to see you there!

Upcoming events!

Saturday, October 30, morning Mass at 8:30am at St. Hedwig.

Sunday, October 31, at 11:30am is Sunday Mass at St. Hedwig.

There will be no Mass on Monday, November 1, for All Saints Day.

On All Souls Day, November 2, there will be a blessing of the graves at Mount Carmel Cemetery at noon.

Then we will see you next Sunday at 11:30am for Mass!

Update on the church!

St. Hedwig is still allowed to have one Sunday Mass at 11:30am. We just recently celebrated the feast of St. Hedwig on October 16. The Mass was beautiful with several servers and many parishioners in attendance for the special Mass. The Mass also included the incensing of the statue of St. Hedwig on the high altar. Coming up is the All Souls Day Mass at Mount Carmel Cemetery, with more information to come. Also don't forget to come to St. Hedwig's for Mass on Sunday at 11:30am, we would love to see you there!

Today we remember St. Hedwig on her feast day! What better day than this to pray to God asking for St. Hedwig to intercede and watch over her church in Toledo! Hopefully we will see some of you at Sunday's 11:30am Mass at the church!

Today the new pastor assumes control of the parish. St. Hedwig's is remaining open for the 11:30am Mass. Come to Mass at Sunday at 11:30am and show your support!

Thank you to all who have prayed and kept St. Hedwig's and her people in your prayers. Also if you once were a parishioner at St. Hedwig or came to Mass there, remember the church is staying open! So come to the 11:30 am Mass on Sundays and show your support for St. Hedwig's!

Saint Hedwig will remain OPEN!

Today at the Masses it was announced that Saint Hedwig Catholic Church would remain open for at least one Mass on Sunday for the next few months! Praise be to God!

As today is the first day of the Lagrange Street Festival come out and have some fun. Also please pray that Bishop Leonard Blair is willing and able to find an associate pastor to assist at the parishes of St. Joseph and Sts. Adalbert and Hedwig.

Please continue to pray for all the past prayer intentions and especially for the people and pastor of Saint Hedwig's that God may guide all of them. Remember the Polish festival is this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Parish Festival

Please pray for the Lagrange Street Festival, which is the parish festival for St. Hedwig's, that it will do well and that everyone will continue to be involved in the parish and its activities.

Please pray for our leaders that God may guide them in all they do! Pray especially for Bishop Leonard Blair (the bishop of our diocese), Fr. Michael Billian, and Fr. Joseph Poggemeyer.

The Toledo Blade reports on the closing of Saint Hedwig Catholic Church, view their article HERE.
They report that Saint Hedwig is now an oratory, which is a place of prayer where Mass and liturgical celebrations may be held, and that possibly no more Sunday Masses will be held after August. However, everything is up to the new pastor to make the call.

On the parish website St. Hedwig is listed as an oratory. Click here and also Here
Saint Adalbert is listed as the main church. Funny how in 1875 when Saint Hedwig was built there was no Saint Adalbert Church. St. Hedwig's will remain as the mother church of Toledo's Polonia.

Also, there will be no more daily Mass at Saint Hedwig. Click here for the latest bulletin from the church.
