What a stunningly beautiful church. Alas I can understand why the diocese feels it must close the church. I saw the picture of your Easter 2010 Mass. The church was almost empty. It broke my heart because I know that there are enough Catholics in the area to fill that church to capacity and then some!!! What is wrong w...ith our people??? Have our priests and sisters done such a terrible job with catechesis that this is the final outcome!?!? I fear that is truly a major part of the problem. You want to save your church? Take charge of catechizing the faithful. Go door to door if you have to and go with the truth, not with the "warm and fuzzy" crapola they teach today! That's not what people want or need to hear. Teach them from the Catechism, not from the probably ridiculous garbage the diocese "approves." Take it from experience; the laypeople will have to do the job for the religious have failed.
